Security Manager of AES Andes receives Rosalino Fuentes 2022 Award from the National Security Council

The company received two other important distinctions for its commitment to safety in the North complex.

In recognition of his professional career and contribution to risk prevention, the security manager of AES Andes, Axel Salvo, received the “Rosalino Fuentes 2022” award, awarded by the National Security Council (CNS).

The distinction was awarded at the CNS Annual Awards, an occasion in which representatives of the government participated, as well as companies and institutions associated with the entity, such as the Director of Operations of AES Chile, Norberto Corredor.

In the “Prevention Professionals” category and with the unanimity of the votes of the Director of the entity, the executive obtained sustained recognition, according to the Council, for his extensive and effective professional career of 26 years practicing the profession of engineer. in Risk Prevention, of which 13 worked in the field of construction in mining projects, as well as another 13 in the Health and Safety team of AES South America for the construction of generation sources.

Along with thanking him for the recognition, the professional highlighted that “it fills me with pride to be worthy of a distinction like this, which reflects all the work we do at AES Andes for our first value as a company, which is putting safety first and foremost. This is based on a constant effort to identify, evaluate and mitigate potential risks for collaborators, contractors and communities.”

Salvo added that “this award is not just mine, since it reflects the work of my team and an entire organizational culture for having safer operations and workplaces every day.” As an example, he commented that “each employee is authorized to stop work that he considers to be unsafe.”

When presenting the award, the president of the CNS, Guillermo Gacitúa, highlighted that Axel Salvo “has focused his activities on collaborative teamwork, establishing horizontal organizations to allow good interpersonal relationships and enhanced innovation, along with the soft skills of the people and transversal communications throughout the company.”

The “Rosalino Fuentes” award is the highest distinction awarded each year by the National Safety Council, in which effective results in the prevention of risks of work accidents and occupational diseases are recognized, through annual statistical indices of each company. .

In addition, the company received two other important distinctions: one for its commitment to safety in the North Complex, achieving 3 million hours worked without workplace accidents.

The company also obtained the “National Security Council” award in the business units of Angamos, Cochrane, Norgener, Norte Grande Interconnected System Transmission and SIC Transmission Deputy Management.

Representing the Superintendency of Social Security (Suceso), the mayor of Labor Security, José Francisco Castro, congratulated the institutions and distinguished people: “Talking about a safety culture is not something minor. This is the most important asset of an individual, such as his life, safety and well-being of his family, because when someone suffers an accident, not only is that person affected, but his entire environment is affected,” he said.

The authority added that “recognizing those who have made an effort to advance in matters of safety at work is something worthy of praise.”
