IST awarded AES Andes for its management of the safety of its collaborators

AES Andes was recognized with two important awards for its work in caring for the safety of its collaborators, within the framework of the 2023 National Distinctions awarded by the Workplace Safety Institute (IST).

These are the Excellence in Prevention and Outstanding Contribution in Prevention 2023 awards, which were presented by the mutual insurance company in a ceremony in which the leading firms in workplace safety were distinguished.

The recognitions awarded by IST point to the constant improvement of companies in the exercise of prevention and care for each of their collaborators, generating pleasant work spaces by promoting labor, physical and mental protection.

In this regard, the CEO of AES Andes, Javier Dib, highlighted that “it is an enormous pride for us to receive this award, because within our values, safety comes first. This distinction ratifies and demonstrates all the good we are doing.”

The Excellence in Prevention award was received by the company's Director of Operations, Norberto Corredor; the Security Manager, Axel Salvo and the Manager of the Center Complex, Marcelo Morales.

Corredor maintained that “this is a recognition of each of the collaborators when they put safety first in all their work.” Furthermore, he valued that “with IST we have worked intensely and very closely. The support they have given us has been excellent, because we are very happy seeing how our security has been able to continue growing to be able to create this culture.”

Likewise, Axel Salvo assured that "this achievement falls on the entire company, because from the highest leadership it is always emphasized that safety is the first value, as well as that each worker is authorized to stop work that could be unsafe."

Meanwhile, the head of Studies and Planning of the company, Sergio Guzmán, was recognized for his commitment and contribution to the comprehensive care of the workers and work teams of AES Andes, obtaining the distinction “Outstanding Contribution in Prevention”.

The team represented by Sergio Guzmán achieved the implementation of a maintenance system for high voltage lines in the upper sector of San José de Maipo, which made it possible to almost completely avoid the presence of collaborators in adverse weather conditions, by automating these systems.
