  • The decision is a new step forward in the strategy to accelerate the transition to renewable energy.

April 20, 2021.- In line with efforts aimed at accelerating the disconnection of its thermoelectric operations in the country, AES Gener announced the final closure of Laguna Verde Power Plant (58.35 MW of installed capacity), located in the town of the same name in the commune of Valparaíso.

The Company formally requested the National Energy Commission (CNE) to definitively disconnect the units –two steam turbines and one gas turbine– that make up the Laguna Verde Plant.

The CEO of AES Gener, Ricardo Falú, highlighted that this is a new step for the company in its process to accelerate the transition to renewable energy, a key element of its Greentegra transformational strategy, which began in May 2018.

Falú thanked each of the collaborators who have worked at the plant for their commitment, effort and contribution to the country.
