A network of companies created by Fundación Iguales seeks to measure progress in this area in order to generate best practices within organizations.

AES Andes Joins Pride Connection and Reaffirms its Commitment to Promoting Sexual Diversity and Inclusion

In a new step in its Diversity and Inclusion policy, AES Andes announced that it has joined the Pride Connection network of companies.

This is an initiative promoted by Fundación Iguales that aims to promote inclusive workplaces for sexual diversity and create links to attract LGBTI+ talent to the more than 100 organizations that make up the network.

AES Andes previously joined Pride Connection as an observer company and this year decided to join as a member, which will allow it to participate in workshops and roundtables throughout the year.

Carla Requena, Human Resources Director of the Company, explained that "member companies participate in a work plan that promotes practices to achieve a diverse and inclusive culture, which is measured at the beginning of each year with an internal x-ray that allows us to know the degree of progress of the network and each company in particular".

In this sense, the director said that "we are very pleased to announce our inclusion in Pride Connection, especially in such an important month for the LGBTI+ community, because it is a space for work and reflection to make our Company an increasingly diverse and tolerant place".

Meanwhile, the founder of Pride Connection, Emilio Maldonado, said that the initiative "is a network of companies that allows member organizations to learn best practices for building inclusive spaces. We congratulate AES Andes for its commitment to the inclusion of LGBTI+ talent."

The Company, through its Diversity and Inclusion Policy created in 2019, has adhered to a series of initiatives aimed at creating a more inclusive work environment, such as being included in the Gender Parity Index promoted by the World Economic Forum and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), in addition to being part of the Energía +Mujer Program of the Ministry of Energy and the certification to Chilean Standard 3262, which allowed it to obtain the Iguala Conciliación seal issued by the National Service for Women and Gender Equality (SernamEG).
